Dinosaur Country Bound

Monday July 14 and what a beautiful morning and we woke up DRY!! Perhaps I should explain, the sprinklers at the campground go off at 3 am and we got our kitchen area soaked as well as our camp chairs. Now the search was on to find these underground devils that pop up and soak you. Hooray!! we were able to find 4 close to our tent. Last night before going to bed we placed some heavy objects on them ( like the picnic table leg, water basins, etc. ), IT WORKED other people had wet stuff but not us.
We left at about 11:00 am heading for Drumheller, our first stop VULCAN, it is a small town out in the middle of nowhere that has taken on the Star Trek theme and done very well with it. The first thing you see as you come into town is a huge starship. The info centre is of course done up to look like a space station of sorts. The young girl working there took our picture with the Star Trek background. She was very friendly and full of information. We had lunch in the Enterprise Cafe and then fueled up the bike and left. It was a good thing we topped up our tank as we got into a terrible HEAD WIND and boy does that use up gas in a hurry. We were happy to finally get out of the wind and arrived at the Dinosaur Trail RV Park at around 4:00 p.m. Our friends Dick & Lois pulled in about 2 hours after us, so after dinner we ventured over to their motorhome and played seniors jokers until about 11 p.m. ( the girls won all four games ) and then we went back to camp and settled into a nice warm bed.
