North Bound to Dawson Creek

We left Edmonton at 8:45 a.m. in what appeared to be nice weather, and as we got further north it became a lot windier and a lot of DARK cloud s. No rain thank goodness!

Mayerthorpe has a monument now for the 4 fallen RCMP officers who were shot to death there 2 years ago so we had to stop and see it. Got gas in Whitecourt and stopped at Timmies for coffee.

We had lunch in Valleyview at ErnieO's Restaurant and Pub. The food was good, the service was great and their window paintings were very interesting to say the least. It wasn't too long after we got back on the road that we got into really strong winds and the temperature dropped down to about 14 c. We arrived in Grande Prairie around 4 p.m. set up camp and then walked over to Quiznos for a sub for dinner.

We had thought of staying two nights but the cold wind and the poor campground changed our minds. Up in the morning and off to Dawson Creek.
